Xenochrony I

about

this EP is a collage of events that actually happened, but not in the way that you will hear them. The piano-based parts were recorded in one take on one evening after seeing Matthew Shipp at the Bop Stop (Cleveland) in 2016. I left that show extremely inspired and came home and improvised all the piano parts in about an hour. A looper was certainly involved. I can't play piano. Parts have been edited and disected, of course. Piano is a Roland RS-5, and I played a Mico-Korg simultaneously.

The guitar parts were recorded at different times, well prior to the piano sessions. In the spirit of Xenochrony, I imported files into the piano session freely and without bias and really didn't spend much time mixing them. It all came together in about three short nights of messing around. Serendipity! Xenochrony!

This is very likely to be the only EP like this in my catalog, as I very seldom focus this well on playing synths.
